Stainless Steel One Wire Ibutton Probe Reader
The iButton Reader is a simple and easy to use desktop interface to communicate with the DALLAS family of iButtons from a PC. The Reader is available with USB connectors. The USB version comes complete with drivers which enumerates the Reader as a standard COM port. The reader is fully USB 2.0 compliant, and allows the use of standard DALLAS iButton drivers to be used, as well as easy migration of existing software applications to USB, with no software changes. The reader is available with a standard Touch socket, for momentary touch, or the Touch & Hold socket, that latches the iButton to the reader, until removed.
When the key is put to the iButton reader, a signal is sent. If it is a magnetic key (iButton), it is then held in place by the reader. The iButton reader can be connected to a 1-Wire device. Only 1 iButton reader can be used per Extension, but limitless iButtons can be used. The iButton Reader is Water resistant, but not recommended for use in extreme environments, since the materials are not corrosion-resistant enough over long periods of time.
